Alex Francis introduced his emotive melding of rock and soul in early 2017 with the release of HIS FIRST SINGLE ‘Make Believe’.
He followed that with a guest vocal performance on Melanie C’s single ‘Hold On’ from her album ‘Version of Me’ AND SHORTLY AFTER signed with live agency Solo WHERE HE was invited to tour the UK and Europe with Melanie for shows in London, Berlin, Manchester, Liverpool, Hamburg and more. He FOLLOWED on to release his debut EP ‘These Words’ amidst a string of high profile summer shows including the Isle of Wight Festival and British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park opening for Phil Collins.
produced by Eddie Serafica (Jake Bugg) the EP was released via Kobalt / AWAL and included the single ‘The Last Time’ that received strong regional support from BBC Introducing and Spotify IN THE UK. Alex’s second EP ‘A Stronger Love’ arrived in late 2017. Recorded at London’s Livingston and RAK Studios, it caught the attention of Stereophonics’ Kelly Jones who invited Alex to open the European leg of their ‘Scream Above the Sounds’ tour in early 2018. The band have continued to be regularly supportive of Alex’s music.
Alex’s new single ‘Free’ was written in New York with Jeff Silverman (Adele, Aloe Blacc) and Vincent John (Lee Fields) Released on June 22nd and produced by Chris Potter (The Verve) ’Free’ has already been broadcast nationally in the UK on BBC Radio 2. Alex and his band have just completed a tour of Europe supporting Sting and have recently played MadCool festival in Madrid, Spain and Blue Balls Festival in Luzern, Switzerland.
THIS AUTUMN Alex will return to New York to work on new material and perform at the Mercury Lounge alongside Anthony D’Amarto on September 27th.
